I was wondering what the pixel density of this new MacBook Air was today. While the resolution isn’t in that 1080p range like some other expensive ultra-portable, this MacBook Air gets back just fine without a insane resolution. The iPhone has a gorgeous display with a density of 326 ppi. My Optimus V has around 140 ppi. The difference is appearance is quite staggering, one looks like there is paper under the screen while the other appears to have microscopic spaces between the larger elements.
The MacBook Air suffers neither a lack of resolution running at 1440 by 900 or screen size at 13.3-inches diagonal. I had to look up the PPI calculation formula only to find it is the Pythagorean formula with an extra length division. Easy.
13.3-inch Model:
sqrt( 1440^2 + 900^2 ) / 13.3 = 129.627222 ~ 130
