Today was the eighth anniversary of Guild Wars 1. I wasn’t a beta player back then, though I was a regular player in the first couple of months after the game launched. In fact, the week after launch, I bought the game on a Sunday. That next morning was when I had to leave for my sixth grade class trip to Wolf Ridge.
Guild Wars is a very different game now than when it came out eight years ago. Three campaigns, an expansion and multiple missions, multiple rebuilds of profession dynamics. Not to mention, another game set 250 years into the future. Guild Wars 2 took years to build and if we’re lucky, we’ll see it last just as long.
