It’s still not as smooth as the touchscreen for zooming and scrolling websites, and the cursor still doesn’t glide as effortlessly as it does on your average MacBook, but it’s one of the closest outside of Apple’s camp. Like with many other recent HP laptops, you can also turn it off quickly by double-tapping the upper-left hand corner of the touchpad.
And until an OEM can tackle the trackpad and make actual headway into not sucking, the laptop market for PCs will shrink.
Also, what’s going on with that absurd name? So fine, it’s an Envy — a premium product, but then Spectre? Meaning what, exactly? And XT? Extra-tough? Extra-tall? And TouchSmart? I’m reminded of this. Just pick a simple name and stop. Please.
