I know. Seriously biased reviewing. The Pixel has about a dozen apps, most of which don’t work if you’re not connected to the internet. That gets a 6.
A Windows 8 ultrabook-class device with millions of programs and apps that work offline (Photoshop, Office, etc.) also gets a 6. [moved link]
Explain that one, David Pierce.
It’s hard quantifying something you feel. If I reviewed Windows 8 apps, I would probably give it a mediocre rating, maybe a five or a six. If I reviewed the Chrome App Store that supplies Chrome OS with apps, I would probably do the same. Neither Metro nor Chrome OS offer applications that are useful, regardless if they’re always available.
