  1. Me neither.

What I’m more annoyed with is the Applerati going nuts over this. If HP, Dell, Samsung, or another system vendor was rumored to do this, not so many would have given a crap. But because it’s “OMG APPLE”, their cult rush to be the damn apologists. Hint: they are one of the biggest companies in the world; they don’t need it.

I guess this feeds into my larger disgust over Apple hype. Perhaps someday I will replace Ars Technica with a reputable general tech news outlet with another that isn’t an Apple one in disguise. When the last OSX came out, you had to scroll the Ars homepage to see something not apple related. It will probably happen again with the next iCrap release.

  2. It’s not just that. Ars forgot their Microsoft and Open source sections in their latest redesign, but somehow remembered their Apple one. They didn’t even mention either (or why they dropped them) in the article about the big redesign. Hmmm…

Every release of Ubuntu is six months in waiting, but its combined fanfare is not that overwhelming.

I will be watching them for Windows 8. On October 26/27th, their home page better be overflowing from here to hallelujah with Win8/MS related stuff.
