Sprint 4G LTE Rollout

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), July 16, 2012 – Sprint (NYSE:S), the first national wireless carrier to introduce 4G service in 2008, today announced that it is delivering the speed and power of an all-new 4G LTE network to 15 cities surrounding the Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City and San Antonio markets.

  1. Funny. I just bought a phone that uses Sprint’s legacy WiMax network. Funny.
  2. Funny. 4G LTE was primarily deployed in southern regional cities.

Besides that, the first to introduce the losing 4G service in 2008 probably does not deserve a medal and a pat on the back.
