Yeah, I have to agree. I have one. It’s a terrific little machine. It’s fast and the keyboard feels awesome. But you feel seriously handicapped when using it. Worst of all, google docs aren’t available offline yet so you have nothing but a paperweight in places where you can’t get an internet connection. Forget about doing any serious coding, photo-editing, content creations. Even games from the chrome store run choppy and slow on this. For instance, I took a 300 dollar sony laptop and put Ubuntu on it for my 5 year old daughter. She plays fancy pants from the google app store on it without a hiccup. On this 500 dollar chromebook, playing fancy pants is painful because of how poorly it runs! What good is a chromebook if it has troubles running software from the chrome store!

It would have been worth it for about 200 dollars, because it is great for checking emails and for basic web-surfing. But the current price is ridiculous. I feel like I threw my money away.

Maybe, if I could dual-boot into ubuntu, and if that runs decently on it, I could change my mind very quickly!
