For the last few weeks, my Saint Paul College Photoshop class has been working on making an image into a statue. It’s a simple project. I’ve used Photoshop for years and I’ve mentioned it sucks working out the web without it.
The first week we needed to follow a video tutorial on making a bald guy wearing a shirt. It was kind of a cheat on the author’s part though because his visual subject – a bald guy – is a lot easier to work with than a person with lots of hair, like myself. The second week we were supposed to work on our own images. My results are good enough since I’m not really a Photoshop Ninja but you know what? At least I got it done.
Let me explain this one. I couldn’t use my own image because I have way too much hair. It’s really hard to color and a pain to get to disappear when the skin turns to stone. In addition, I don’t have many high resolution images with my face looking forward. I added a little flare to the still metallic ring despite the stonification. This probably took in all, two days for me. It took others in the class longer but I’m not really sure what their results were.
I’m not really a photoshop person but this turned out well enough.
