My most popular post is how to burn an ISO with Nero 9. I think it is about time that I suggest some other software options that might make your burning experience better. I’ve tried a few ISO writing programs over the last few years. When I find one that works, I stick with it until it brings me woes that I don’t have time to worry about.
InfraRecorder – InfraRecorder used to be my number one ISO burner. Its interface is extremely clean and initiative. Just throw in your disc and hit write image and it’ll let you select the source location and set the burn speed. It’s that easy.
ImgBurn – ImgBurn. The name describes perfectly what this does. Again, this has a stream lined interface that is designed to be very simple. It can be as easy as putting in your disc, hitting write image file to disc and hitting burn. It also offers many advanced features that can be helpful.
ISO Burner – ISO Burner isn’t something I’ve used in ages but my father uses it still. He likes that it only does one thing: burn ISOs. It does it well.
This is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to ISO burning. There are many more choices out there. My favorite is ImgBurn because it can burn ISOs well but also because it can burn anything well. No matter what you choose, you’ll find that just about anything is better than Nero in terms of interface and usability.
