Since I’ve been more or less whining about IBCS, I thought I take a look at what was available from colleges. I was surprised to say the least.
I found two great courses (that are open) from Stanford. CS106B and CS106A. The A class seems to focus on computer science with Java in mind. The B class is very much more advanced than anything I’ve seen. It uses C++, Java, Python and who knows what else.
Of course, I’m not ready to take such a high level class with no actual instruction. I might take a look at it when I get further into break. High Schools should really be using this free content to bolster their own courses.
