Isn’t it hard to believe that WordPress 2.8.4 is the current version just a year later? I find WordPress incredible and I hope this type of progress continues. Additionally, if you’re still running an old WordPress installation, I suggest you update now.
WordPress 2.6.2 was released today. This is a bug fix update and isn’t going to do that much.
Some fixes include:
- a fix for textpattern imports
- bad handling for multi-categories
- get_* fixes for posts
- image bugs
There are 13 closed tickets (out of 13 total) with 2.6.2. You can see the code differences here.
If you have wordpress but don’t have the WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin yet, you need it.
Update: Thai SEO remided me of something I read a week ago. A problem with php rand and mt_rand is that they aren’t unpredictable if the seeds are known and often the seeds can be known with a bit of expiermentation and tickery. The new random generator they use is pretty fancy actually. I can’t even descirbe what it does, but you can take a look for your self, but it looks better than mt_rand.
Great! i will get the plugin now.
I am happy with current 2.6.1 version but WordPress 2.6.2 contains a handful of bug fixes. I’ve just upgraded my blog to this new.
